Whether it is planning of the route or execution of the ride, Royal Enfield provides service and medical back up to provide confidence not just to the first time participants but also to their friends and family. The Himalayan Odyssey has expert and experienced pilots to guide the group in various areas of bike riding and coping with the weather and terrain.

The ultimate head rush, the Himalayan Odyssey is a mountain adventure organised by Royal Enfield. Undertaken by Royal Enfield riders from around the country, it is the greatest test of man and machine against nature. Facilities offered by Royal Enfield for participants of the Himalayan Odyssey
1. Lodging and boarding arrangements on a Twin sharing – ‘bed and breakfast’ format. Dinner is included in all camps but not in major towns where riders prefer different platters according to their personal taste.
2. Service back up – we carry a small team of mechanics and light spares (in case of major complication bike will have to be carried in the truck to the nearest service station).
3. Medical back up in the form of a qualified and experienced doctor. However please note that the onus of the participant’s health rests with him. Due to the high altitude and remote nature of the region combined with difficult terrain, lack of infrastructure, and inherently risky nature of the ride we urge participants to always be cautious.
4. Exclusive prearranged camping facilities in offbeat scenic locations.
5. Hygienic water (those participants, having special requirements for separately prepared mineral/boiled water are requested to make their own arrangements).
6. Guidance with bike preparation and physical conditioning before the trip.
7. Tips on bike maintenance before, during and after the trip.
8. Tips on riding, both before and during the trip, dealing with special topics like cornering techniques, off road (sand, snow, slush, inclines) riding, water crossings etc...
9. In case of any major mechanical damage participants will have to pay for the parts replaced.
10. Accident damage will have to be paid for by the rider.
11. Riders will be responsible for paying for their own fuel, meals and snacks other than that included in the package.
12. Arrangements to carry your luggage (at your own risk). Participants are requested to carry emergency provisions and first aid on their person all the time. Their other luggage (two pieces only) can be carried in the support vehicle. The support vehicle is the last vehicle to start and last vehicle to reach hence there might be a delay in participants being able to access their luggage after reaching a destination.
13. The riders will be required to cross a stretch of 400km without fuelling facilities in case participants are not confident of doing so on one tank-full they should intimate the support staff to enable them to make arrangements to carry additional fuel.

We try to keep rules and regulations to the minimum unless when necessary for the harmony and safety of the individual or group.
However we expect the few that we have, should be followed very strictly, failing which we may exclude that particular participant from the rest of the trip.
Intoxication: we do not tolerate any form of intoxication when on the bike. Disregard for this will result in immediate expulsion
Conduct: participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that preserves their dignity and others around them, including other participants, support staff and locals of the region
Environmental responsibility: we must try and ensure that we maintain the sanctity of the region we are passing through and will not tolerate any form of littering or other damaging actions
Medical advice: if you are under medical treatment we expect you to follow the medical advice very strictly. Disregard for this will result in immediate expulsion
Riding rules
Rider must always wear a full face helmet while riding. Flip open full face helmets with a locking mechanism to stop the helmet jaw from closing are permitted
Riding gear consisting of ankle length boots, full sleeves riding jacket preferably with protectors, gloves and knee guards are mandatory at all times while riding
Please carry additional water proof gear in case riding jacket cannot withstand rains
Rider should have a valid driving license for riding motorcycle with gear in India. Riders must always carry their driving license
The motorcycle should have valid registration, insurance and PUC certificate and the originals should always be carried on person while riding
Riders must keep adequate distance from other riders and close overtaking is prohibited
All riders must ride with another fellow rider at all times. No participant may be alone in route
All riders are expected to ride ahead of the backup vehicle and should ensure that they do not prolong stops enroute to further delay the backup vehicle
At the end of the day’s ride, every rider should first inspect their motorcycle and report any issues to the service staff. Rider must always be with their motorcycle while the service staff works on it.
Unaccompanied bikes will not be attended to
While passing through inhabited areas rider should slow down to give right of way to the local residents and pedestrians
Camp & Hotel accommodation rules
Participants should not walk bare footed, even inside the camping area or hotel accommodation
Identification card, Wallet and Torch should be carried on person at all times
Punctuality: During the Himalayan Odyssey we will start early every morning and all participants must adhere to the timings given by the organizers.
Any conduct found compromising your individual or group safety will not be tolerated.

Himalayan Odyssey is open only for Royal Enfield motorcycle owners
Riders who have participated in any Himalayan Odyssey before cannot participate again
Riders should have a valid driving license for motorcycle with gear, permitted to ride in India
Motorcycle registration, insurance and PUC certificates should be valid
Medical Insurance is mandatory
Riding gear consisting of a full face helmet, ankle length boots, full sleeves riding jacket preferably with protectors, gloves and knee guards is mandatory
Participants should be able to run 5 kms and do 50 pushups in 1 hour. Pushups may be done as multiple sets.
Motorcycles should be ready for the Himalayan Odyssey as per the guidelines given under Bike Preparation
Participation in Himalayan Odyssey 2010 will be subject to physical fitness test, riding gear & motorcycle scrutiny that will be held in Delhi on the first day.

I would like to go Himalaya, I have a Royal Enfiled bullet but I can't ride from kerala. So please arrange one Royal enfield bullet and kindly accommodate me with your Himalaya trip. Finally let me know the total cost of that ride. I am planning to go on July.2011 to August 2011.
