Royal Enfield Bullet-The Indian Cult ?
Royal Enfield Bullet-The Indian Cult ? Find out !!
Steve Johnston, aged 45, is heading out to Asia, in January, for a demanding 14-day trek on a classic Royal Enfield Bullet motorbike.
Steve, together, with colleague, Andrew Yates, of kitchen and bathroom company PJM Group, is now looking for sponsorship for the challenge, which will be raising cash for four different charities.
Steve is no stranger to adventurous challenges for charity and over the past few years has taken part in the Great Manchester Run and completed parachute jumps for the likes of cancer charities Macmillan and Clic Sargent.
A sales director, Steve said: “The challenges have been organised by the company really, as a way of putting something back into the community.
“We are both really looking forward to the India trip, although I think it will be hard going at times, with the road conditions and the fact that we will be spending six or seven hours a day in the saddle.
“Then there are the cows wandering about the roads to avoid. I’m sure it’s going to be an eventful trip.
“Also, I am used to riding a Harley Davidson, so switching to an old Enfield Bullet will be a bit of a test!”
Steve heads out to India on January 23, when he will be meeting up with other people from around the globe also taking part in the challenge, organised by Global Enduro.
The trip involves 10 days of dawn to dusk riding through some of the world’s most beautiful and inspiring scenery, supporting Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, Save the Children, CWS, and Adventure Ashram.
The ride will take in mountains, hot, arid plains, dense forest trails and some of the country’s most hectic and vibrant towns.
Anyone interested in sponsoring Steve should send cheques, payable to PJH Group, to PJH Group, Alder House, Kearsley, Bolton, BL4 8SL.
