ReplyDeleteJust called up Brawn and Aman Automobiles and both of them confirmed that they not not booking for CSD as of now due to rate revision that happened in Nov'11 and have no idea when they will resume. :-(
@naveen it actually depends on state to state. for eg. in Mumbai it is around 3-4 months whereas in Punjab it is hand to hand or may be a week or so. I'd advise you to ask the dealer directly.

2 The bike would be in your friends name as csd facility is only for defense personnel. everywhere from RC to booking would be on his name. There is no problem as long as he is okay to get that bike out for you from CSD.
3 As far as i know you can't convert it as dealers have separate booking queues for CSD
4 yes Thunderbird is available through CSD but no idea about Bangalore. you'll need to visit your nearest Royal Enfield dealer.

@Kabir Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 isn't available in CSD as of now as this is a new launch. You should wait for sometime or may be you can go for some other model. Keep thumping!!

@amitroutray it would be easier and better to call the dealer and clarify the things. As far as waiting period is concerned it varies from place to place. For eg. in Punjab waiting period is one week to two weeks and in Haryana its around one and half month. whereas in south its close to 4 to 6 months. So it won't be easy for anybody to guess the waiting time for a particular place and model as its varies as explained above.

Hi, i am Babu. I wanted to book royal enfield thunder bird 350 through CSD. My brother is working in army. I enquired about the process through the Royal Enfield dealer in Chennai. They told first we need to book for Rs. 5000 with dealer. Then they will call us after 3 or 4 months when the bike is ready. We need to go to CSD with the documents 1. Letter from army officer, 2. DD in favour of CSD. After the CSD process we need to provide the CSD purchase order to the dealer to deliver the bike. Is this the process? Also my question is my brother will not be hear when i take the delivery. Is that necessary he should be here to take the delivery? Or an authorized letter from him is enough? Please advice me.
